On February 27, 2025, the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore hosted an international workshop titled “Managing Pressures and Transitions: ASEAN’s Agency in an Unsettled World” at the Fullerton Riverfront Hotel. Over 80 guests from governments, academia, the diplomatic community, business circles, and civil society organizations in the region attended the workshop. The event aimed to explore the resilience of ASEAN in the context of great power competition, focusing on three key issues: regional security, digital transformation, and energy resilience.
Associate Professor Li Yanfei from our institute was invited to the workshop, where he delivered a keynote speech on the development of the ASEAN power grid and participated in a panel discussion with ASEAN experts. Further developing the ASEAN power grid is an important strategic measure to accelerate regional sustainable energy transition, enhance regional energy security, and reduce the cost of renewable energy.
